VEGAS T. CURRY

Principal Associate & Lead Facilitator

First inspired to serve The Republic by the events of 9/11, Vegas enlisted in the United States Navy. Serving in The Navy taught him adaptability, perseverance, honor, and courage. Each deployment being a crash course in emergency management, both foreign and domestic, the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina was particularly impactful. This deployment strengthened a resolve to pursue a career in public service. Moreover, being a Louisiana native, Vegas was proud to serve his community during it’s time of need and this experience ultimately became rationale for focusing on emergency management.

Upon conclusion of service, Vegas received his B.I.S. from The University of Virginia and M.P.S. from Tulane University. Coupled with a law enforcement background and having studied terrorism, he was led to the intelligence community. Bringing his technical background in humanities and social sciences, Vegas critically assesses emergency situations with an added awareness for holistic and multi-dimensional approaches. His expertise bridges policy with political, economic, and cultural elements; making planning, training, and strategies incremental and sustainable to meet protective services best practices.
